33rd Odawara Port Festival
An experiential ocean event held annually in August at Odawara Fishing Port under the theme of "a place for interaction between the sea and people." With the slogan "See, Touch, Learn, and Eat! Experience All of Odawara's Ocean," the event offers a packed lineup of programs including sales of fresh locally-caught fish from that morning, fishing experiences on fishing boats, observation of fixed-net fishing, and dried fish making workshops. Food events such as the "Jizakana-1 Grand Prix" where the winner is decided by votes on local fish dishes are also popular, and visitors can tour fishery research vessels. A popular summer event in Odawara that families can enjoy together.
