A festival of Yashima Shinmeisha Shrine with roughly 400 years of history. Six floats parade through the town together with the mikoshi portable shrine. On the eve of the festival there is kagura taiko drumming, and on the day of the festival the floats process and the mikoshi is carried through the streets. It is the largest festival in the Yashima area.

矢島八朔まつりは、由利本荘市矢島地域の矢島神明社の祭典で、およそ400年の歴史を持つ矢島地域最大の祭りとされる。祭神である稲をつかさどる倉稲魂に豊穣を願うもので、かつて旧暦8月朔日に行われていたことから「八朔まつり」と呼ばれる。現在は毎年9月第2土曜・日曜に開かれ、初日の宵宮では神輿や灯籠が町内を練り歩き、六丁が一斉に神楽太鼓を披露する「太鼓共演会」が行われる。2日目は六丁の山車が御神輿とともに町内を巡る山車の競演が祭りの中心となる。近年は3年続けて中止となった時期があり、2023年9月10日に4年ぶりの開催として再開された。2026年は9月12日・13日の開催予定。
