Hundreds of fireworks festivals are held across Japan each year, ranging from intimate local shows with a few thousand shells to massive spectacles launching tens of thousands. Watching the sky fill with light over a riverside or oceanside venue never gets old.

Fireworks viewing can last a while. A picnic blanket lets you sit comfortably on the ground and enjoy the show at ease.

Popular viewing spots fill up fast. If you have a preferred location in mind, arrive several hours before the show starts.
Factor in the Crowds After
