Higashi-Chichibu Village Poppy Festival 2026

A vast poppy field at Chichibu Kogen Ranch with panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. The vivid red poppies against green hillsides create a spectacular photo spot. Visitors can enjoy soft-serve ice cream and local products at the ranch.

The poppy field at Chichibu Kogen Ranch was established as part of efforts to create a flower tourism destination in Higashi-Chichibu Village. The ranch, primarily a dairy facility, opened its poppy fields to the public as a spring attraction.

The Poppy Festival has been held annually at Chichibu Kogen Ranch during late May to early June. The ranch's poppy field has grown in scale over the years, becoming a beloved spring destination in the Chichibu area.

About 40 minutes by car from Ogawamachi Station on the Tobu Tojo Line/JR Hachiko Line. About 20 minutes by car from Kanetsu Expressway Higashi-Matsuyama IC. No public bus service to the venue; car access recommended. Free parking available.

Peak bloom weekends in late May are busiest. Weekday visits are more relaxed. The hilltop location means it can be windy; arrive in the morning for calmer conditions and better photo opportunities.

Admission fee applies. The ranch is on a hillside, so wear comfortable walking shoes. Bring sun protection as there is limited shade. The elevation means temperatures can be cooler than the plains.
