Stage events include Soran dancing by local elementary students and performances by university students. The contrast of the rural landscape along the Oayu River and flowers is beautiful and makes for great photos.
Iiyama Ayame no Sato was established along the paddy fields of the Oayu River for agricultural promotion and community interaction. Selected as one of 'Kanagawa's 100 Best Flower Spots,' it has become a beloved early summer flower destination representing Atsugi. Note: the flowers are actually Japanese irises (hanashobu); ayame, hanashobu, and kakitsubata look very similar and are collectively called 'ayame.'
