Kakunodate's cherry blossom festival where weeping cherry trees line the Samurai District and Somei Yoshino bloom along the Hinokinai River embankment. The opening ceremony and illumination lighting ceremony take place on April 15. Features Oyama Bayashi stage performances and food stalls, attracting many tourists throughout the festival.
