Food Deity Festival (Takabe Shrine Reitaisai)
The annual festival of Takabe Shrine, the shrine of the food deity, within the grounds of Kainan Shrine. Gives thanks for nature's blessings and prays for culinary culture prosperity. Local hotels, restaurants, and food processors offer dishes, and the traditional 'hocho-shiki' (knife ceremony) where fish is prepared without touching it by hand is performed.
