The overwhelming density of approximately 13,000 fireworks launched nonstop in one hour is the main attraction. The 'Double Niagara' with two cascading waterfalls of light is the festival's signature. Laser and music-synchronized performances engage both sight and sound.
Adachi Fireworks is one of Tokyo's longest-running fireworks displays, with roots in the Taisho-era 'Senju Fireworks.' Resumed after the war, it has now reached its 48th edition and is beloved as the event that kicks off Tokyo's summer fireworks season.
About 15 minutes on foot from Kita-Senju Station (JR, Tokyo Metro, Tobu Railway, Tsukuba Express). Also about 15 minutes from Kosuge, Gotanno, and Umejima stations on the Tobu Line. No parking available near the venue; driving is not possible.
A hugely popular event drawing about 700,000 visitors. Kita-Senju Station gets extremely crowded at gates and platforms. Securing a spot is possible by arriving in the morning on the day, but overnight spot-holding is prohibited. The Nishiarai side is often less crowded.
