Oyama Inu Matsuri (Dog Festival)
One of the three great festivals of Shonai with approximately 300 years of history. A dog-shaped mikoshi representing the legendary Mekke dog and gorgeous karakuri floats parade through the streets accompanied by festival music of drums and flutes. Held annually on June 5th.
