八女福島の燈籠人形
八女市本町の福島八幡宮境内で、放生会の奉納行事として秋分の日頃の3日間に公演されます。
山鹿の大宮神社から奉納燈籠をもらい受け、江戸時代半ばに福島町民が独自の工夫をして人形の燈籠を奉納したのが始まりだといわれています。そのころ大阪方面で流行っていた人形浄瑠璃の技術を取り入れて現在の形になりました。3層2階建の釘や鎹を1本も使用しない屋台が、期間中だけ組み立てられ、囃子にあわせてからくり人形芝居が上演されます。
