Sagami Kounomachi 2026
A festival with 1,300 years of history held annually on May 5 (Children's Day) in Oiso Town. The six shrines of Sagami Province, led by Samukawa Shrine (First Shrine), gather to pray for national peace and abundant harvests. Rituals include the Five-Shrine Ceremony and Zamondo at Kamisoroyama, and the Shintaimen ceremony and Heron Dance at Baba Park. Designated as a Kanagawa Prefecture Intangible Folk Cultural Property.
